Keliki Style

    Keliki Style :

Keliki art is very similar tothe Old Batuan Style with the one exception being size. Keliki paintingsare rarely larger than 20cm by 15cm. They contain scenes of mythical andRamayanic characters engaged in battle, good versus evil, on sinister backgrounds.Keliki artists also follow the tradition of the old Wayang artists in thatthey seldom sign their work.

Batuan Style

PAINTINGS
    Batuan Style :

Strongly Wayang based, this styleinvolves hundreds of intricately painted representations of Balinese lifefilling every available nook and cranny of the canvas. Batuan artists likeI Wayan Bendi, Ni Wayan Warti & I Made Budi, make much more of a statementabout life in Bali, with subject matter including everything from traditionalvillage activities to camera-toting tourists and even surfers. EarlierBatuan artists, Ida Bagus Made Togog and Ida Bagus Made Wija, dealt muchmore with the darker, supernatural side of life in Bali with people depictedas extremely vulnerable to the spririts and powers of nature.
