It is important to also note the following:

• The Visa on Arrival is non-extendable and cannot be converted into a different visa.
• The Visa purchasing system will take approximately 3-5 minutes per applicant.
• There are 6 payment counters, a bank and a money changer set up to process payments.
• Once you have paid for and received your visa you will need to proceed to Immigration where your visa will be processed.

Citizens of countries not on the visa on arrival or visa free lists will be required to apply for a visa before entering Indonesia.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia, and you must have proof of onward passage (either return or through tickets). If you cannot fulfill both of these requirements, you may not be allowed to enter the country.

Most hotels use 220 volts, 50 cycles and a round, two-pronged slim plug.Bathroom shaver plugs usually have a transformer switch. We suggest takingan adaptor for your appliance.

Getting Around

You will find a range of chauffeur driven limousines, self-drive cars,taxis and hotel courtesy cars. Many taxis are not metered so it's wise tonegotiate the fare before you climb aboard. Bemos are a unique form oftransport. They are a mini-van masquerading as a communal bus. You simplyhail the driver and negotiate the fare that suits you both. Motorcycles canalso be hired in many places but special care should be exercised at alltimes as road and traffic conditions can be somewhat hazardous in certainlocations. Traveling around Bali is made all the easier because everywhereyou go you'll find friendly people only too happy to give you advice anddirections on how to get where you want to go.

If you wish to hire a car you must be over 18 years of age and posses anInternational Driver's License or license from ASEAN countries.

Clothing

Light, airy, casual clothes are the most practical and you'll findnatural fibers like cotton or linen are the most comfortable in Bali's oftenhumid conditions. Waist sashes should be worn when visiting temples.

BALI ISLAND HORSE
A natural Balinese experience with a mystic ride, on seemingly endless sparkling beach Our Stables are located on the coast, at the Seaside village of Yeh Gangga, just west of most photographed and one of Bali's most sacred places, Tanah Lot. The scenery is beautiful in this peaceful village, where rice farming, fishing and sea salt harvesting are the main activities. BALINESE MUSIC AND DANCE CLASSES - The YAYASAN POLOS SENI (Foundation for Pure Art) in Ubud, offers Balinese music and dance classes for students who wish to become fully involved with the music & dance culture of Bali. There are 2-week courses to learn playing the Gamelan at the MUSEUM SENI KLASSIK in Klungkung which is open for all levels of experience. Beginners as well as "non-musicians" are welcome.

BALI SLING SHOT - The SlingShot is an experience that everyone can enjoy, from those who are afraid to fly to the adventure seeking adrenaline-junky. This amazing reverse bungee "jump", flying in a spherical cage, 45 metres into the air (higher than a 15 storey building), all bouncing, flipping, plunging and giving you:- one hell of a rush! It is almost as much fun to watch as it is to participate!

We take surfing to a whole other level! Paddling is the new way to go!
SUP, or Stand Up Paddle Surf, is an ancient form of surfing that was properly noticed in the 1940s. It can be traced back to the early days of Polynesia and was first seen in the Hawaiian island of Tahiti. The sport was initially put into practise by surfing instructors to manage larger groups of students. They stood up on their boards as it gave them better visibility of what went on around them. The surf coaches used a one-bladed paddle to navigate a normal length surfboard. As time went by, the surfboards grew longer and the paddles were modified. Nowadays, SUPing is becoming extremely popular all over the world because of the sport’s elegant simplicity, quick learning curve and lack of age limit.

BOWLING & BILLIARDS - Bali's newest addition - Paradiso Bowling and Billiard centre has recently opened at the Kuta Centre located in Tuban. Spend a fun filled night with the family. There are 18 bowling lanes with shoe hire available along with 38 pool tables. The centre is open daily from 10am till 2am.

CAMPING - Camping in Bali is now possible. 

Cinema - Bali has two cinema's. There is one in the Galleria Shopping Mall in Kuta and Wisata in Denpasar. The cinema in Kuta is located 10 minutes from most major hotels so has easier access. Metered taxi's are available at the entrance. 

CLIMBING - Not advisable during the rainy season (November to March). Bali's highest mountain, Gunung Agung, can take between 3 to 6 hours to climb. It takes one day to reach the summit of Gunung Batukaru and return. Guides are recommended. For rock climbers there is a state-of-the-art, 110sq meter climbing wall in The Adrenalin Park.

COOKING SCHOOL - The Casa Luna Cooking School classes not only teach about foods, cooking and culinary myths, but also the role of food in Balinese society; its ceremonial use and religious importance. Learn about exotic herbs and spices

CYCLING - Most pedal-pushers can find their own way around, however there are some river-rafting companies offering day trips on mountain bikes, which are well worth taking until you get your bearings! Cycling is a great way to see Bali "off the beaten track".

Young Artists

A second movement, born of Europeaninfluence, occured in the early Sixties with the arrival of Arie Smit tothe village of Penestanan. With his encouragement the artists in that areastarted exploring the use of vivid colors and more abstract, simple forms.The paintings in this style are much more expressionist with little attentionto detail of perspective. Among the better known of the 'Young Artists'are I Wayan Pugur, I Ketut Tagen, I Nyoman Londo & Ketut Soki.

Ubud Style

Influenced by the Western useof perspective and everyday-life subject matter, the Ubud style is oneof the most Expressionist of all the Balinese schools. Despite this, Ubudart still retains many traditional features including attention to detailand very stylized characters. Among the better known Ubud artists are AnakAgung Gede Sobrat, Ida Bagus Made, Gusti Ketut Kobot and Dewa Putu Bediland Made Sukada.

Pengosekan Style

From this village, on the outskirtsof Ubud Bali, a new style sprang up during the 60's that concentrated onjust a few natural components like birds, insects, butterflies and plants.These paintings tend to be more realistic and less expressive than theUbud style.

Keliki Style

Keliki Style :

 

Keliki art is very similar tothe Old Batuan Style with the one exception being size. Keliki paintingsare rarely larger than 20cm by 15cm. They contain scenes of mythical andRamayanic characters engaged in battle, good versus evil, on sinister backgrounds.Keliki artists also follow the tradition of the old Wayang artists in thatthey seldom sign their work.

Batuan artists likeI Wayan Bendi, Ni Wayan Warti & I Made Budi, make much more of a statementabout life in Bali, with subject matter including everything from traditionalvillage activities to camera-toting tourists and even surfers. EarlierBatuan artists, Ida Bagus Made Togog and Ida Bagus Made Wija, dealt muchmore with the darker, supernatural side of life in Bali with people depictedas extremely vulnerable to the spririts and powers of nature.
